AMI Spotlight: Medical Director & Head of Women's Imaging

Meet two of the radiologists at the Somers Point office -- Dr. David Levi and Dr. Peggy Avagliano.  Both physicians are board certified, fellowship trained radiologists.

Dr. Levi, the Medical Director at the Somers Point office, began his career at Atlantic Medical Imaging in 2010. He received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College and completed his Residency in Diagnostic Radiology at North Shore University Hospital.  Dr. Levi is fellowship trained in Musculoskeletal Imaging.

Dr. Levi credits the hard working, dedicated staff for making the Somers Point office a successful office. Being able to help patients receive quality medical care and knowing he is part of a practice that has worked hard at helping the community for more than 50 years, is what Dr. Levi finds most rewarding about his job.

Besides being Medical Director of the Somers Point Office, Dr. Levi is a volunteer with Every Breath Counts, an organization dedicated to raising awareness and funding for lung cancer research. The group also supports local programs throughout South Jersey, focusing on the importance of lung cancer education. In his free time, Dr. Levi enjoys spending quality time with his wife and three children. He also enjoys playing tennis, basketball and traveling.

Dr. Avagliano, known as "Dr. Peggy" to her patients, has been with AMI for 15 years! She received her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College and completed her Residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Peggy was one of the first fellowship trained women's imagers in the area.  As Head of Women's Imaging, Dr. Peggy is an avid spokesperson on the importance of yearly mammograms and breast health. She strives to meet the needs of each patient and is dedicated to giving them hope when they need it most!

Dr. Peggy volunteers for Gilda's Club of South Jersey, a non-profit organization that provides community support for those battling cancer and their families. Dr. Peggy and her family also raise and train Seeing Eye service dogs. You will often see Dr. Peggy at local events and fundraisers for the community. When she isn't volunteering, Dr. Peggy enjoys family game night and attending the theater to see shows and musicals.

The next time you visit the Somers Point office, say hello to Dr. Levi & Dr. Peggy!
