AMI Spotlight: Registered Nurse of Brick

Tim Manovill, B.S., R.N.

The AMI Spotlight introduces you to Tim, our registered nurse in the Brick office. Tim has been with Atlantic Medical Imaging for five years, and was previously with NJ Diagnostic Imaging for nine years before it became AMI. As a registered nurse, Tim's job is to assist the radiologists in certain exams performed in the office, such as injection of IV contrast dye. He also takes patients medical history, monitors them during and after the procedure, and makes sure to thoroughly explain the procedure to them. Tim will also follow up with the referring physicians to ensure patient results are received.

Tim attributes his positive work attitude to his co-workers, who he has been able to work with for over ten years. The sense of family among the co-workers makes this office a great place to work. However, the most rewarding part of being a registered nurse for Tim is being able to help patients through their procedure. He believes that laughter is always the best medicine!

On his days off, Tim volunteers with the Manasquan Volunteer Fire Company. He has been involved with fire and rescue for over 35 years. Tim also enjoys fishing, gardening, and taking his dog for walks on the beach.

AMI Spotlight: Brick Township Office

The AMI Spotlight is focused on our Brick Township office located in the Kinetic Medical Park at 455 Jack Martin Boulevard. Dr. Sheldon Kaplan is the Medical Director and Dr. Marshall Koven is the Assistant Medical Director. This office is one of two Atlantic Medical Imaging offices in Brick – the AMI Women's Imaging Center is located just up the street at 495 Jack Martin Boulevard.

At the Brick 455 office, we have a 1.2T high-field open MRI, the Hitachi Oasis.  This is a truly open MRI unit for patients who have had challenges tolerating exams in the traditional closed-type MRI unit. This MRI can accommodate claustrophobic, anxious, pediatric and large sized patients (up to 660lbs).  In addition to MRI, we offer CT, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, echocardiogram and x-ray exams.  Depending on the particular test, we will tailor our imaging to accommodate the specific needs of each patient.

AMI Spotlight: Radiologist Assistants Brick Women's Center

The AMI Spotlight is on the Radiology Assistants (RA) at the Brick Women's Imaging Center. The RA’s role is to ensure that patients have a positive experience with AMI before, during and after their exam.  Prior to the patient’s arrival, the RA will ensure all previous films are received and loaded into our system.  For certain exams, the RA will also verify insurance coverage.  Once the patient arrives at our office, the RA will take the patient’s medical history and ensure all forms are completed.  The RA also supports the Radiologist during the daily review of the patient images which helps the Radiologist dictate each case in a timely and efficient manner. If for some reason, a patient needs to come back for additional images, the RA will call the patient and schedule the appointment.

Lori (left) and Toni Ann, RA's at our Women's Imaging Center.
Toni Ann (right) is an RA at the Brick Women’s Imaging Center.  She has been with AMI four years.  Making sure patients have a positive experience is the most rewarding aspect of being an RA for Toni Ann. Toni Ann says, “The sense of family among the AMI employees not only helps ensure patients are comfortable and satisfied, but also makes the office a supportive work environment.”

In addition to her duties as an RA, Toni Ann is also AMI's Wellness Coordinator. She provides tips and knowledge to assist employees in meeting their fitness and nutrition goals. Toni Ann also develops wellness challenges throughout the year for the employees. Recently, over 40 employees participated in the 2nd Annual Employee Weight Loss Challenge. The employees that participated lost a total of 175 pounds!.  The next challenge is the 100 miles in 100 days challenge.  The goal of this program is to get employees up and moving, especially now that the weather is getting a little cooler.  As a personal trainer, Toni Ann enjoys helping people make healthy choices, which can lead to a happier life.

Toni Ann leads a very active lifestyle and spends her free time doing a number of outdoor activities including hiking and paddle boarding.  She also has two Great Dane rescues, Diesel and Lady Murphy.
